A little listening goes a long way.
Songless is a music guessing game for your browser. Each run has five songs, progressing from Easy to Brutal. Start with 0.1 seconds and see how quickly a familiar track clicks.
Listen, choose, guess
- Press Play to hear your current snippet. Replay it as often as you like.
- Drag the slider, choose a preset, or tap +1s to hear more, up to 30 seconds.
- Search by title or artist, select the matching track, and submit your guess.
- Keep guessing or skip to reveal the answer. Complete all five rounds for your result.
Less audio, more points
Each song starts at 10,000 points. One second is worth 6,417; 30 seconds is worth 3,500. Each different wrong guess costs 500 points. The score uses the longest snippet you unlocked, so shortening the slider does not restore points. Replay is free; skipping earns zero.
Daily and Unlimited
Daily challenge gives everyone the same five primary songs. It resets at 00:00 UTC. Finishing all five rounds, including skipped songs, extends your completion streak. Reopening a finished daily does not add another completion. A run finished after its UTC game day has ended stays in your history but does not extend the streak.
Unlimited lets you play whenever you like. Choose your genres, artists and eras in “Your kind of music.” Songs from your recent mixes and repeated artists are avoided when the selected collection is large enough. The two modes keep their progress separately.
If a preview cannot play
Retry it or choose Free replace. The replacement starts at 10,000 points without a skip or wrong guess. Daily replacements come from a fixed backup list, and the share result mentions when one was used. If all backups are unavailable, retry later or play Unlimited.
Use Report track to flag audio, metadata, duplicate versions or difficulty. Sending a report does not consume a guess or change your score.
Search that understands you
Search accepts joined words, common spelling mistakes, accents and stored aliases. Choose the intended song before submitting. Compatible remaster and release labels share an answer identity; songs performed by different artists remain distinct.
Your kind of music
Try Rock, Pop, 1990s or 2000s. Each collection has its own saved run and uses the same five-round scoring. Collection runs do not change your Daily streak.
Challenge a friend
After finishing, choose Challenge a friend and create a link. Your friend receives the same five songs and starts each at 0.1 seconds with no account required. The result compares each round against your shared score. Links expire after 90 days. If a failed preview is replaced, the comparison is marked as a different mix. These are friendly, self-reported challenges rather than verified rankings.
Your music profile and share card
Your statistics now includes Music DNA: recognized songs by genre and decade, your shortest successful preview and average preview length when correct. It uses detailed results from newly completed runs; historical totals without song details cannot supply genre data. Share image creates a downloadable card without song titles, and supported devices can open their system share sheet.
Your preferences
Open Your statistics to turn on Save data or opt out of anonymous usage measurements. Save data loads previews only when you press play. Playback always starts with your action and stops when the page is hidden. Reduced-motion settings disable the animated frequency bars.
No account is needed. Progress, scores and streaks are saved in this browser; clearing site data removes them. Read the privacy details.
Catch up and back up
The archive opens past daily mixes after their UTC game day has ended. Archive progress is separate and never adds a streak day. Your statistics includes Export backup and Import backup for completed results and preferences; imports merge results, keep unfinished games, and never upload your file.
